Do you have problems after updating to 1.35.3.5 or above in Windows 10? Game doesn't even start after clicking on "PLAY", or it just crashes while loading a map without any error message? I will tell you what to do in this thread!

Since Windows 10 is still a new operating system and it needs to have its compatibility fixed, errors can appear often on games, like CS GO. This error can be caused by a lot of things in Windows 10, such as:

- Not having the latest DirectX version
- Not having the latest Visual C++ redistributable installed
- Not having the latest .NET Framework version
- Multicore Rendering crashing the game
- Anti-Virus preventing the game from running or launcher from executing operations such as updating
- Firewall blocking updater connection and corrupting installation, resulting in the game not loading
- Windows Defender blocking steamclient.dll.

I will tell you the fix of all of those issues above. Here are the workarounds you can do to see if the problem was fixed. I HIGHLY recommend you do all of these.

1. Install the latest version of DirectX.

DirectX is required in a lot of games, especially 3D games, such as CS GO. Not having the latest version and compatibility fixes that are in it may result in game crashing or instability.

Steps:
1. Download the latest version of DirectX from here.
2. After it is downloaded, run it and follow the steps the installer provides you in order to update DirectX.
3. After installation, close the window, try running the game and see if the problem persists. If it is still there, continue to the next step.

If the installer says that a newer or equivalent version of DirectX was installed, do this:
1. Go to game folder --> directx_installer folder.
2. Run dxsetup.exe within the folder. Wait for it to install, then close the window.
3. If you don't have dxsetup.exe, run directx_jun2010_redist.exe and install it, then close the window once it's done.
4. Try running the game. If problem is still there, continue to next step.

2. Install the latest redistributable of Visual C++.

Visual C++, just like DirectX, is another key factor in games, especially 3D games such as CS GO, and without these two games will never run without errors.

Steps:
1. Download the latest version of Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable from here (download the x86 version no matter of what OS you have).
2. After it is downloaded, run the installer as administrator.
3. Follow the installer's steps to install the latest redistributable, then when it is done, click on Finish.
4. Download this archive for all the previous versions installers from here.
5. Extract everything to a folder, then run every single installer as administrator one by one.
6. After you installed them all, try running the game. If the problem is still there, continue to the next step.

3. Install the latest version of .NET Framework (4.6.1).

.NET Framework is used in every web application, and since CS GO is demanding of connecting to the internet, this is really useful to have and may fix potential errors.

Steps:
1. Download .NET Framework 4.6.1 from here.
2. After it's downloaded, run it as administrator and install it.
3. After it's installed, close the window and try running the game again. If the problem is still there, continue to the next step.

4. Multicore Rendering crashing the game.

Do this only if your game can start up. If not, skip this step and follow the next ones, and come back once you can start your game again, to avoid future errors.

This may seem weird, but for some people including me and my friend, having Multicore Rendering enabled may crash the game after a map has loaded.

Steps:
1. Start up the game, and go to Settings --> Video Settings.
2. Search for "Multicore Rendering", and disable it if it is enabled.
3. Click on Apply, then OK, and then try to start a offline game with bots and see if the map can load successfully.

5. Anti-Virus preventing the game from running/launcher from updating.

Your Anti-Virus may detect the game or launcher as being suspicious, but trust me, it's just a false alarm. Add the game folder to AV exceptions.

If the game doesn't start:
Steps:
1. Open up your Anti-Virus interface.
2. Go to Settings and search for Exclusions or something like that.
3. Add the game folder to exclusions (Make sure it looks like this: [drive]:\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\* [with an asterisk so everything is excluded, [drive] stands for drive letter]).
4. Close the AV and try running the game again. If the problem persists, continue to the next step.

If you get the "UPDATE FAILED" error when updating, delete all .json files (type ext:json in search bar to get only .json files) in the game folder, run launcher as administrator, and make sure Anti-Virus is disabled while updating, then click on "Update". After it's done re-enable your Anti-Virus. Make sure that the game folder IS added to exclusions.

6. Firewall blocking updater connection and corrupting installation.

Windows Firewall can sometimes block the connection between the launcher and game server, so it will make the installation corrupt.

Steps:
1. Click on the Search button near the start button (the magnifying glass).
2. Search for "Activate or deactivate Windows Firewall".
3. Click on the option that appeared and disable Windows Firewall. After that, try updating the game with the steps above this workaround, and then try running the game again. If the problem persists, continue to the next step.

7. Windows Defender blocking steamclient.dll from running.

Windows Defender that is by default enabled in Windows 10 can block the steamclient.dll file from operating and thus making the game not be able to run.

Steps:
1. Right click on the start button and click on Control Panel.
2. Click on "Backup and Security" or something like that (i don't have Windows 10 so I don't know :P)
3. Go to the "Windows Defender" tab.
4. Disable all the options here, then close this down, then try to run the game again.

8. Disable Game DVR in the Xbox app.

Game DVR is a feature that is enabled by default in Windows 10 that allows you to take screenshots and record any games it supports. Unfortunately, it also brings stuttering issues, lag, and makes some games freeze or crash, games like CS: GO.
(may only work for people who own a Microsoft Account that is connected to their user account and to Xbox Live).

Steps:
1. Search for "Xbox" app and open it using Windows Search at the bottom left or any other method you'd like.
2. Login with your Microsoft Account, if you aren't logged in already.
3. Click on the "Settings" gear button at the bottom left, then click on the "Game DVR" tab.
4. Disable "Take screenshots using Game DVR" or "Enable Game DVR" or any setting that implies enabling the feature.
5. Close the Xbox app. You're done!

LAST RESORT. Completely uninstalling/reinstalling the game.

If you still continue to have problems even after doing all of these, all you can do is re-install the game.

Steps:
1. Go to where CS GO WarZone's game folder is located, then click on it, then press Shift + Delete to permanently delete it.
2. If you don't have CCleaner, download CCleaner from here, install it, then cleanup the PC and registry to remove leftovers.
3. Download the latest version of the game from here, and then run the installer as admin and install the game.
4. Once it is installed, go to game folder, delete all .json files (type ext:json in search bar to get only .json files), run launcher as administrator and click on "Update" (disable AV and Firewall while this is updating).
5. Now you can try running the game.

If you still have problems, I'm afraid that Windows 10 is not compatible with CS GO WarZone completely so, you might just have to install a different version of windows. ONLY DO THIS if NOTHING ELSE works.

Thank you for reading. Hopefully this thread may have helped you.
