Magic: The Gathering has been running for more than three decades (not unlike myself at this point), but it’s grown into a much more popular game in recent years.
That’s likely due to the appearance of Universes Beyond crossovers with third-party IP, but if you’re looking to buy a bunch of cards for less, there are some booster boxes on sale at Amazon right now in the early October Prime Day sales. Here are my top picks, and why you should pick them up ASAP.

Save on Magic Booster Boxes Right Now
Kicking off with a spooky set that’s perfect for Halloween, the Duskmourn: House of Horror Play Booster Box is down to $129.99 for 30 packs, meaning you pay around $4.30 per pack. It doesn’t hurt that it’s a fun set, too.
Sticking with Universes Within, an Edge of Eternities box of 30 boosters is currently $150 at Amazon, and it’s a really neat divergence into sci-fi that leverages a new Spacecraft mechanic.
Outlaws of Thunder Junction is an older set, but its booster box is down to $119.99 for 30 packs if you vibe with its Wild West theming.
Finally, Marvel’s Spider-Man set for Magic: The Gathering only launched on Friday. A 30-pack booster box is technically discounted as far as Amazon’s list price goes, but it’s still $159.95 - around $30 more than a standard booster box.
Buy it, don’t buy it, I’m not your Uncle Ben, but I’m flagging it anyway since it’s the lowest price Amazon has sold the box for. In any case, that’s $5.33 per pack, in case your Spidey sense is tingling.
