Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes gives the classic science fiction series a tactical roguelike twist, putting you in charge of the fleet from combat to resources. At Fan Fest: Fall Edition 2025 we got a new look at the game.
The space battles are frantic, but to survive the Cylons you'll also need to manage your resources carefully, commanding the crew of the fleet and be ever vigilant for any Cylon imposters that may have already infiltrated your population. Over time you'll earn access to new Gunstar fleets, squadrons, and crucial meta upgrades, which you'll need to survive the enemy.
Scattered Hopes is due out sometime next year but one lucky writer at IGN got to try it out already, and called it "the first breath of new life into the franchise in more than a decade." He likened it to FTL: Faster The Light and noted:
"Scattered Hopes oscillates between white-knuckle tension when the Cylons demonstrate their incredible force, but much of your time in this game will be oddly dulcet. Tech trees will be dutifully filled out with upgrades, providing more fighters, better medbays, and tougher hull exteriors. Lonely travellers cross our paths, and join forces. Staff level up, and develop new traits."
