Question - where is the file for CS:GO Loadout preferences stored?

They are sometimes reset after a game update, probably because a file is replaced.

I've tried backing up items_730.bin then replacing it into the correct folder after an update but it didn't work.

Any ideas? Where is the file that stored CS:GO skin loadout settings stored?

What worked for me: copy the items_730.bin file on your desktop and whenever theres an update, just replace the files and voila.

Don't know any other ways
 
Try run as admin also before update. Items have 1 file that is writre items version. To avoid every update owerwrite... Probably your file keep older version of items so he everytime update "new" version of items and try to write in file a version of items but he probably fail to write .
