Updates are slow

Why does the updates take hours to download if the update is only 50-100 MB on steam, does it download the whole game again?
 
Are you sure your internet is not slow , because the time of downloading a file no matter how its size is always depends on your internet speed , check if you have other downloads in the background.
 
ya u can buy steam.... also its says that downloading that much, but do u realise that he download 500mb in few seconds?
